What conditions does pediatric physiotherapy treat?

Early intervention with a physiotherapist can make a significant difference in enhancing a‬ child’s independence, movement, and overall development. Our pediatric physiotherapists‬ are dedicated to creating a supportive environment that encourages growth, healing, and‬ progress.

POSITIONAL PLAGIOCEPHALY‬‭

Physiotherapy can help manage‬‭ positional plagiocephaly‬‭ , a condition where a‬ baby's head becomes flat on one side due to prolonged pressure. Physiotherapists use gentle exercises and techniques to improve neck range of motion, encourage‬ repositioning, and reduce muscle tightness that may contribute to the flattening.‬

Physiotherapy can support children with‬‭ developmental delays‬‭ by improving motor‬ skills, coordination, strength, and balance. Through tailored exercises and activities,‬ physiotherapists help enhance movement patterns, improve posture, and promote‬ functional skills like sitting, crawling, or walking. They also work on sensory‬ integration, muscle strength, and flexibility, which can aid in overall development.‬

TORTICOLLIS‬‭

Physiotherapy can effectively treat children with‬‭ torticollis‬‭ , a condition where a‬ baby’s head tilts to one side due to tight neck muscles. Physiotherapists use gentle‬ stretching exercises, manual therapy, and positioning techniques to improve the‬ range of motion in the neck and reduce muscle stiffness.‬

Physiotherapy can help manage children with flat feet (‬‭pes planus‬‭) by strengthening‬ the muscles of the feet, ankles, and lower legs. Through targeted exercises,‬ physiotherapists aim to improve arch support, enhance balance, and promote proper‬ foot alignment.‬

CEREBRAL PALSY

Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in helping children with‬‭ cerebral palsy‬‭ by‬ improving mobility, strength, and coordination. Through tailored exercises, manual‬ therapy, and movement training, physiotherapists work to enhance motor skills,‬ reduce muscle stiffness, and improve posture. They focus on developing functional‬ abilities, such as sitting, standing, and walking, while also addressing issues like‬ balance and joint alignment.

Why Choose InHome Physiotherapy?‬

Parents also have the‬ chance to be hands-on, learning techniques they can use at home to support their child’s‬ progress.‬

With home-based physiotherapy, scheduling is more flexible, so it’s easier to prioritize‬ therapy without worrying about travel time or conflicting appointments. For children with physical or emotional challenges that make leaving the house tough, receiving care at home‬ can be a game-changer. It ensures that every child, no matter their needs, gets the support‬ they deserve to reach their full potential.

I am glad that I have found Cindy, the physiotherapist by luck to treat my dad's chronic lower back pain. She is very professional and wonderful. She is very patient with older folks like my dad who is 95. I saw a big improvement in my dad's mobility and strengthening of muscles from the exercises within 5 weeks of treatment. Thank you Cindy.

My father is in a long term care facility, and we were finding the time allotted by the facility was not enough, nor focused enough to be effective in our opinion. I saw an InHome Physical Therapy vehicle in the parking lot one day, and made an inquiry. They got back to me that same day, and booked an initial appointment to assess my father and his needs. Troy was early for his appointment, was very professional, and was able to come up with a focused plan for extra therapy that gave my father some hope, and a renewed focus on improving his abilities. Am extremely impressed with this program.

I booked InHome physio for my > 90-year-old mother twice. One time when she hurt her knee in a freak accident, and just recently, after a partial hip replacement. Both physiotherapists. (Mike the first time and Brennan now) have been absolutely awesome. My Mom really likes them and they are keen on getting her independent and so are fully engaged even though she is elderly. So often, people don't put their best effort into supporting the elderly, but these gentlemen are very dedicated to their patients regardless of their age. Mom says thank you!
